Last But Never The Least

Today is the last day of Beach Hut Surf School's 3 months of exciting skimboarding action. And as mentioned yesterday, this day's gonna be hot.

It was indeed hot. At 4:30 p.m., the sun was still peaking, roasting the beautiful bodies frolicking on the beach.

I thought that no one would dare put out for Beach Hut Surf School on a very hot and sedentary Sunday...

but these two did...

Jen

Chie

These girls were not shy to admit their lack of athleticism but they wanted to try skimboarding just for the heck of it. They learned Aser's 1-2-3 basic steps and jumped on the board, pushing it horizontally, thereby further gliding it along the thin flat shore of Willy's Rock.

They returned their rash guards with another Boracay Story to share with their friends back home and received a cute tangerine skim board from Beach Hut Clear Spray Sunblock.

Long live Beach Hut Clear Spray Sunblock!

A Birthday Lesson

Thank God that though the rainy season has arrived, sunshine and nice weather are still shining on paradise. The sun is bright; the sand is flat, the water is clear and the clouds are perfect. Nothing could certainly go wrong under such bright weather conditions.

So much more so that our only student experienced another memorable moment on her birthday. Manila yuppie Tita Aquino grabbed her Beach Hut skimboard and followed our temp instructor Andrew to the beach front of Waling-Waling, on which flat tide Tita learned the basics.

Presently over-worked, but used to play brilliant Ultimate Frisbee games, Tita needed this boost to remind her on balancing her life with a sport that she could be passionate about.

She tried with skimboarding and hacked it, only that the heat was too intimadating that she decided to cut her thrill-quenching skimboarding feat for a few snapshots of Willy's Rock.

By sunset, the shore was flatter and longer; thus another Beach Hut Surf Class has ended.

Watch out for the last and culminating Beach Hut Surf School tomorrow at Jonah's Fruit Shakes. It's gonna be hot!

Blowin' Thursday

Today, fickle Mother Nature changed her mood once again and blew strong waves into the white beach, threatening Beach Hut Surf School's operation.

Kitesurfers were already inflating their kites as the wind grew stronger.

Unperturbed by the sudden shift of wind, we still encouraged skimboarding enthusiasts to start their lessons an hour past 3pm to wait for the thin but shaky tide.

This is Jun Loterte. A father and a bank executive who was interested in Beach Hut's Surf School so he could pass on his lessons to his children. And this is how his lessons went:

Then three young gorgeous lad and lasses also dropped in for their free skimboarding lessons. One was this guy, Aldo Scarella who had purchased another SPF 36 keyholder for his skimboarding 201 lessons -- The Wave Ride

Sporty chick, Catrina Scarella bought her own Beach Hut Clear Spray Sunblock right there at Jonah's to experience the board gliding thrill

And last student was Cathy Gilroy. As a snowboard hobbyist in the States, Cathy wanted to apply her snowboarding skills to skimboarding just to see if it would be easier for her.

Though it always just looks easier than it really is, these Beach Hut Surfers still braved the erratic tide and learn skimboarding the hard way.

Here are some images from this Thursday's Beach Hut Surf School

Congrats to Catrina and Jun for winning the Beach Hut Skimboards for this Thursday.

That's it for now folks! Check us out again this weekend for the final weekend of Beach Hut Surf School.

Surf's up!

Sunday Vanilla Sky

Boracay Island was at its best for last minute vacationers who aim to sunbathe and frolic in the beach under the summer heat.

Needless to say, the sun was emitting scorching heat quite obnoxiously that no one (especially Manilenyos) would subject their precious skin under such weather.

They obviously didn't have a Beach hut Clear Spray Sunblock.

Yet again, as expected, in the last summer weekend before school starts, some showed interest but none showed up for this Sunday's Beach Hut Surf School at Jonah's Fruit Shakes.

Saturday Beach Hut Madness

The weather is beautiful. The sky is clear light blue; the shore is wide; the water is a bit wavy; and the tide is perfect for Beach Hut Surf School.

On this Saturday afternoon, 8 Beach Hut supporters learned skimboarding for free.

They continued to glide along the thin flat shores of Boracay until sundown, thereby branding the adventurous Saturday afternoon as simply madness.
